This guide walks you through the first steps of setting up a Datasource and Channels.

Add Your First Datasource
A Datasource provides the data needed to define your future channels and segmentations. Datasources are connected directly to your CRM. In this guide, you will add a Raiser's Edge datasource.
Important:
Before continuing, connect to the AmpliPhi Segment App through the Blackbaud Marketplace by clicking Connect and following the prompts.
To use all AmpliPhi features, your Raiser’s Edge NXT account must also have Read, Write, and Delete permissions.
To add a datasource:
Search for Raiser's Edge NXT.
Click the Connect button.
Follow the instructions on the Blackbaud authorization page and complete the connection.
Create Your First Channel
Channels define how you communicate with constituents, such as Mail, Phone, or Email. They are used to build groups of constituents based on their preferred communication method.
To create your first channel:
Click on + Add a Channel.
Select a channel type (Mail, Phone or Email).
Choose a name for your channel by editing the label.
Channels use Inclusions and Exclusions to determine which constituents belong to them. Since these concepts are central to how Channels work, we'll explain them first.
Inclusions and Exclusions
Inclusions and Exclusions are lists of constituents used to define a Channel. Constituents in Inclusions are added to the pool, while constituents in Exclusions are removed from it.
Adding Your First Inclusion and Exclusion
To add an Inclusion:
Click on + Add Inclusion. A list of constituent queries from your datasource will appear.
Select a constituent query that matches the chosen channel type.
To exclude certain constituents, select a query as an Exclusion (Optional).
Click Confirm to create the Channel
Please Note: Loading queries for the first time can take a few minutes. This is normal.
